Alt-Falkenstein Castle and Museum

Alt-Falkenstein Castle towers powerfully over the small town of Klus and guards the gateway to the Jura. Visit the local history museum inside and discover an exciting collection on archaeology, weapons, domestic culture and industrial history from the Thal Nature Park.

History of the castle
Alt-Falkenstein Castle was probably built around 1100 on the strategically important road through the Klus. Today, the castle is owned by the Canton of Solothurn and is managed by the Alt-Falkenstein Museum and Castle Association. Visit the museum and learn more about the eventful history of this historic landmark.
