BSU - Bus company Solothurn and surroundings
It all started with a worker's bus. The BSU has been part of Solothurn and the surrounding area since 1930 and today provides basic public transport services in and around the city of Solothurn.
Beschreibung
Starting with one bus route in 1930, the BSU now operates twelve routes in Solothurn and the surrounding area with 48 standard and articulated buses. All buses have a comfortable low-floor entrance, an entrance ramp and are equipped with air conditioning. The BSU has been focusing on comfort and energy-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles for years. Filter technology and compliance with the strict Euro6/EEV standard are standard. Together with the RBS, the BSU is procuring five electric buses. Two of these electric buses will enter service on routes 10 and 17 in spring 2022.
RBS is a sister company of BSU and operates four rail lines from Bern as well as ten bus lines in the greater Bern area and eight bus lines in the Lyss-Bucheggberg-Solothurn region. In addition to a good route network with ideal connections for commuters, both companies also have a lot to offer in terms of leisure activities. The #rausinsorange campaign shows how beautiful the RBS/BSU region is and how much there is to discover in the surrounding communities.
Good to know
On the RBS hiking trail from Solothurn to Bern or vice versa, you can hike stages of your choice all year round. The hiking trail mostly runs alongside the RE/S8 railroad line. Stages can therefore be started or finished at any point you like.
