Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn

The Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn presents a range of top-quality cultural performances in Solothurn’s historic Stadttheater and Concert Hall. From classic opera and theatre to symphony concerts, free introductory classes, dance programmes, children’s and youth theatre and a variety of accompanying events, there is something to suit every taste and every budget.

Fully renovated in 2013–14, the Stadttheater Solothurn is a feast for the eyes and the oldest baroque theatre in Switzerland. Maintaining its original 1779 design, it is one of the founding members of the Alpine route of historic theatres. The Alpine route takes you to the most interesting and best-preserved historic theatres in Southern Germany and Switzerland. Each of these theatres is an attraction in itself; every one is a historic building that represents a part of local, national and European history.

Hire for events
The auditorium and stage, the foyer and Studio Arici can all be hired for events. Our spaces meet all the requirements for holding conferences, congresses, AGMs or private events. Seminars or meetings can be combined with an evening theatre or opera performance.
